Objectives
Chemical and biosensors 2 hours
Definitions. Main characteristics of chemical and biosensors, application areas, natural and synthetic receptors, transducers, chemical and biosensing in the everyday life
Electrochemical sensors and electroanalytical methods 8 hours
- Potentiometric sensors (Ion-selective electrodes, gas sensors)
- Voltammetric methods
- Voltammetric macro- and microelectrodes, Miniaturization and fabrication technologies
- Oxygen sensor
Bioacatalytic sensors 7 hours
-Fundamental properties and mechanisms of biocatalysts
-Electrochemical biosensors:
-amperometric biosensors (Glucose biosensors, etc.)
-bioengineered charge transfer pathways (wired enzyme electrodes)
Affinity -based sensors 9 hours
-Natural (antibodies, nucleic acids, etc.) and synthetic receptors (peptide nucleic acids, molecularly imprinted polymers), characteristic properties and synthesis/selection
- Assays based on labelled reagents (ELISA, RIA, etc.)
-Label-free bioaffinity sensors (quartz crystal microbalance, surface plasmon resonance, cantilever sensors, etc.)
-Sensors based on distance modulation (molecular beacons, etc.)
-Sensors based on nanostructures
-Immobilization of biomolecules
