12. Metal organic frameworks (MOFs):
3D self-assembly of multivalent metal ions and organic ligands; stiff and flexible porosity; their potential in gas storage, sensing, etc.

> Laboratory practices (3 x 4 hours):
1.    Preparation of magnetic fluids
2.    3D printing of polymers
3.    Electrospinning of polymer fibres
4.    Preparation and characterisation of polymer gels

In the modern materials science the main goal is designing materials to accomplish multiple properties in a single system. Usually these materials can respond to environmental stimuli by exhibiting particular changes in some of their properties. The aim of this course is to provide theoretical and practical knowledge in the chapters of modern materials science based on the colloids science (“the world of nano”), surface chemistry and physical chemistry of polymers.

Learning outcomes

Ez a tantárgy a KKK rendeletben meghatározott, következő kompetenciák fejlesztését szolgálja:

Knowledge
Skills
Elvárás, hogy képes legyen alkalmazni a korábban megtanult matematikai összefüggéseket az előadáson bemutatott összefüggések értelmezése során, valamint a laboratóriumi jegyzőkönyvek elkészítése során. Elvárás, hogy képes legyen elmagyarázni a szerkezet-tulajdonság összefüggéseket a nemkonvencionális anyagok esetében. Elvárás, hogy képes legyen angol nyelvű a tananyaggal kapcsolatos információkat feldolgozni. Elvárás, hogy képes legyen értékelni laboratóriumi mérések eredményeit a tanult elméleti összefüggések alapján.
Attitudes

General rules
Requirements: Please choose the subject code BMEVEFAM503 instead of subject code BMEVEFAA707. In the semester: - Writing the three tests (at least mark 2 (pass)) and participation in the lectures (at least 66%) are compulsory. - Accomplishment of all laboratory practices and writing of experimental reports for each practice. The practical part of the subject consists of 3 practices in small groups (6 students in one group) which will be chosen at the beginning of each semester. In the examination period: - Re-takes: The unsuccessful tests can be written again at the end of the semester. On reasoned request of the student, one of the laboratory practices can be accomplished also at the end of semester. Others: according to the Study and Exam Regulation.
