Objectives

Programme

1.       Basic knowledge in stereochemistry, molecular structure, reactivity. Oxo-compounds.

2.       Types of polyreactions: polymerization, polycondensation, polyaddition and other new polymerization reactions (template polymerization, metathesis polymerization). Classification of chain polymerization reactions: radical, anionic, cationic and stereospecific polymerization.

3.       Theory of free radical polymerization.

4.       Mechanism of chain propagation, termination and chain transfer reactions. Inhibition of radical polymerization. Kinetics of radical polymerization.

5.       Theory of copolymerization.

6.       Characteristics of anionic and cationic polymerization.

7.       Stereospecific polymerization.

8.       Mechanism and kinetics of polycondensation and polyaddition reactions.

9.       Chemical reactions of polymers.

10.    Types of cross-linking reactions.

Degradation and stabilization of polymers

The main goals of the course are to give basic information in organic chemistry, which is necessary to understand the background of polymerization reactions, as well as to present the most important polymerization processes and discuss other issues related to the chemistry of high polymers.

Learning outcomes

Ez a tantárgy a KKK rendeletben meghatározott, következő kompetenciák fejlesztését szolgálja:

Knowledge
Ismeri a legfontosabb polimerek előállítási reakcióit.
Skills
Képes a polimerkémia tématerületen angol nyelven megjelent tudományos publikációk alapján magyar nyelvű összefoglaló elkészítésére, valamint a feldolgozott téma bemutatására tudományos előadás keretében. A nemzetközi szakirodalomban megjelent tudományos publikációk segítségével képes a polimerkémia tématerületen a tudásának gyarapítására.
Attitudes
Képes a nemzetközi szakirodalom alapján a polimerkémia tématerület aktuális kutatási irányainak a megismerésére.
