Objectives
Introduction: Preparation steps, choosing the raw material and proper technology
2. Extrusion: construction of an extruder, production line. Main extruder types, one and twin screw extruders, design of screw, analysis of flow in an extruder, characteristics of an extruder screw and its optimal operational point.
3.Extrusion: effect of the extruder screw parameters, α, Δp, special film producing technologies (bopp, bubbles)
4.Wire covering, fiber producing: technologies, devices, dies, set up of technology, process errors and error elimination.
5. Injection molding: construction of an injection molding machine, alignment of machines. Fundamental steps of injection molding. The influence of the most important injection molding parameters (temperatures, pressures, path, speed, time) on product properties, and its theoretical reasons.
6. Injection molding: introduction of different drive solutions (hydraulic, electric, hydro-mechanic, electro-mechanic), control and comparison (advantages and disadvantages).
7. Automation tools: linear robots, non linear robots, construction and regulation. High speed robots.
8. Multi-component technologies: mulit-component technologies of injection molding and extrusion, tools, devices, set-ups. Materials used in multi-component technologies. Compability of the components, characterization of compability.
9. Reactive injection molding: introducing the technology and molds, comparison to other thermoplastic process technology and molds.
10. Production of special composite parts: technologies, solutions, products.
11.Technology problems I: technology problems of extrusion, theoretical backgrounds, troubleshooting. Analysis of product failures from the material and from the technology site.
12. Technology failures II: technology problems of injection molding, theoretical backgrounds, troubleshooting. Analysis of product failures from the material and from the technology site.
13.Technology failures III: technology problems of other polymer processing methods.
Laboratory practice: Visits in plants.
