1. lecture    Historical overview. Digital media broadcast.

2. lecture    Media streaming protocols (RTSP/RTP and HTTP streaming).

3. lecture    IP multicast, adaptive media delivery.

4. lecture    Mobil multimedia. QoS.

5. lecture    Media storage and distribution systems. Caching. Cloud solutions. Content Delivery Networks, P2P streaming.

6. lecture    IPTV systems, IPTV network technologies. Services (interactivity, video-on-demand).

7. lecture    Internet TV, OTT (Over the Top Content) service model.

8. lecture    New trends: UHDTV, multiscreen TV, 3D Multiview and Free Viewpoint TV.

9. lecture    Authentication, Authorization, Accounting. Radius and Diameter.

10. lecture    Digital Rights Management, DRM architecture, cryptography, watermarking. MPEG-21.

11. lecture    Multimedia service supporting technologies (IMS).

12. lecture    Applications and services based on media communications (audio-visual collaboration, e-learning, e-health and telemedicine, smart environments).

13. lecture    New media consumption models: social media, social TV.

14. lecture    Media service business models. Vertical service providers, triple play services. Virtual service providers.

The course focuses on modern media delivery, IPTV, IP-based media architectures and services. This course allows students to get acquainted with evaluation and comparison of different media technologies, decision making and performance analysis.
