Objectives
Programme
Widespread concepts and tasks of communication can be described with a more or less uniform theory. The aim of this subject is to introduce basic concepts and mind of this theory. It deals with basic concepts of decision- and estimation theory, of information theory and of digital communication. Application of these concepts is illustrated by examples taken from radio communication and optical communication. Main topics discussed are: Mathematical introduction: basic notions of stochastic processes; the complex envelope. Basics
of decision theory and estimation theory. Transmission of digital and analog signals over analog channels. Basics of information theory. Properties of channels, channel coding, channel capacity.

General rules
Követelmények:
A szorgalmi időszakban: 4 db zárthelyi dolgozat. Minden zárthelyire maximum 15 pontot lehet kapni. A kapott pontok alapján az egyes zárthelyik eredménye a következő. 0-4 pont: 0, 4,5-7 pont: elégtelen (1), 7,5-9 pont: elégséges (2), 9,5-11 pont: közepes (3), 11,5-13 pont: jó (4), 13,5-15: jeles (5). A meg nem írt zárthelyiket 0 eredménnyel vesszük figyelembe.
Amennyiben a zárthelyik eredményének átlaga eléri a 2,0 értéket, a zárthelyik eredményének átlaga egész számra kerekítve fogja szolgáltatni a félévközi számonkérés végső eredményét. A 2,0-nál gyengébb átlag esetén a félévközi számonkérés eredménye elégtelen.
Pótlási lehetőségek:
A zárthelyik közül kettő javítására, illetve pótlására a szorgalmi időszak utáni pótlási héten van lehetőség. A negyedik zárthelyi eredményének ismeretében minden hallgatónak – a tanszék által később meghatározott módon – egyértelműen nyilatkoznia kell arról, hogy melyik az a zárthelyi, amelyet javítani/pótolni szeretne. Ha egy zárthelyi pótlását megkísérli a hallgató (jelzi a tanszék számára, hogy azt javítani/pótolni kívánja), akkor ezen zárthelyi végső eredménye minden esetben a pótlási héten írt javító/pótló zárthelyi eredménye lesz.
