Objectives
1. Laboratory practice:
Propagation, production and transformation of competent bacterial cells, observation of antibiotic-resistant cell survival. Invesigating the regulation of several promoter sequences by monitoring the reporter gene (beta-galactosidase, green fluorscent protein,etc.) expressions.
Plasmid DNA isolation and purification, followed by restriction endonuclease digestion. Agarose-gel separation of the DNA fragments, and identification of the given unknown plasmid samples.
Investigation of polimorphysm of variable number of tandem repeats in human genes by polimerase chain reaction.
2. Engeneering project:
Designing the whole process of expression and purification of a given proteine.
3. Oral presentation:
Interpretation of a given scientific paper (biotechnology-based) via slide-show presentation.
