Objectives
Beside basic enzymology the aim of the subject is to give an overview about the application of enzymes in various industries. Starch, cellulose, lipids degrading enzymes and various industries are discussed in detail.
Basic enzymology lectures cover the following topics: enzymes as metabolysis regulators; enzyme biocatalysators: structure-function relationship; protein analytics; protein-protein interactions; intramolecular inhibitors and chaperons; temperature dependence of enzyme catalysed reactions.
Industrial application lectures cover the following topics: enzymes in industry; tailoring enzymes for industrial applications; enzymes in pulp&paper industry; enzymes in textile and detergent industry; polisaccharide degradation;
