Objectives
1) Complex chemistry. Nomenclature of complex compounds The structure and types of metal complexes. The formation and stability of complexes. Binding theory of complex compounds: crystal space and molecular path theory. Magnetic properties of transition metal ions. Pearson's acid-base theory. The effect of complex formation on the redox properties of metal ion 2 hours
2) Important elements for living organisms and their grouping. Biochemical evolution of vital elements. The role of changing the environment in life. Development of catalysis. Changing the role of metal ions and their complexes during evolution. Toxic effect. Environmental pollution and enrichment of metals. The damaging effects of metals. 2 hours
3)The role of alkali metals in biological systems. Alkali metal complexes. Cell transport processes. The Na-K balance, the mechanism of the ion pump. The biological effect of lithium and rubidium.
