Objectives
8.1. Laboratory practices:

ELECTROANALYTIVAL METHODS 6 h
- Solid state electrode voltammetry (measurement of paracetamol)
- Cyclic voltammetry in reverse redox systems
- Voltammetry with a solid state electrode coated with molecule selective film
- Biosensors: measurement of blood sugar

FLOW INJECTION ANALYSIS 6 h
- Quantitation of the phosphor content of a plant sample with flow injection analysis (FIA), UV-Vis detection, and with two types of sample preparation:
a) sample extraction by acid digestion,
b) sample extraction by annealing and acid dissolution.

NUCLEAR MAGNETIC RESONANCE SPECTROSCOPY 6 h
Study of the main characteristics of the NMR spectrum, and structural analysis based on NMR spectra. Practicing the empirical calculation of chemical shift in the case of simple molecules. Spectrum elucidation.

5. ATOMIC SPECTROSCOPY 3 h
6. INFRARED SPECTROSCOPY 3 h
Introducing the FT-IR instrument; measurement of fluid and solid samples:
- Making a pellet of solid crystalline CaSO4·2H2O in KBr matrix; measuring its spectrum.
- Recording the spectrum of ethanol in a cuvette for fluids.
- Measuring the spectrum of Parafilm with attenuate total reflection (ATR) technique.

Determination of the CO, NOX, SO2, CO2 and O2 concentration of flue gas.
